Fire, EMS, Police Bring The Trick Or Treating To Local Girl Fighting Cancer
It's been almost a month since we first told you about 4-year-old Sophia Colavito from South Toms River.
Fighting a rare brain tumor, Sophia's story has literally gone worldwide.
Sophia and her sister Isabella started collecting patches from police, fire, and EMS only a few weeks ago, but since the story went viral, the collection of a handful of patches has ballooned to hundreds.
With Halloween only a few days away, it won't be as easy for Sophia and Isabella to trick-or-treat this year, so some local first responders gathered to bring the trick or treating to the Colavito family.
With representatives from the South Toms River Police, the Manitou Park Fire Department, the South Toms River First Aid Squad, Berkeley Township EMS, and more, the vehicles met on a chilly and rainy Sunday afternoon to bring a little sunshine to the Colavito family.
The procession snaked its way through their South Toms River neighborhood, with each vehicle stopping to drop off some goodies (including a few radio station t-shirts!).
You can check out the video of the trick or treat parade right here, courtesy of the Fight With Fi YouTube page:
The surprises weren't over with the treats, though. Later on Sunday, members of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club stopped by to drop off some more patches and a miniature pink motorcycle.
