In a Thursday morning announcement, Six Flags Great Adventure spokeswoman Kristin Fitzgerald said not only is Fright Fest back but with new thrills and scares for 2021.

What you'll have to look forward to or be prepared to get scared of come the fall, Fitzgerald explains, includes six elaborately-decorated areas, attractions for kids which will feature the popular Trick-or-Treat Trail, nine live shows including its signature “Dead Man’s Party,” and the world’s greatest thrill rides in the dark.

In addition, the Jersey Devil Coaster, that's the latest attraction and fitting to the Garden State folklore, will be bringing down the smoke with "five intense elements in the eerie, nighttime fog."

There will be 9 haunted mazes as well at the park!

“We’re thrilled to bring back one of the most anticipated Halloween events of the season. Fright Fest has been a fall ‘must-do’ since the early 1990s,” Chris Allen, Six Flags Great Adventure operations director, said in the Thursday statement. “In 2021, Fright Fest will incorporate all of the thrill rides, extreme scares, and fantastic shows that guests love, plus innovative twists that we introduced in Hallowfest last season. It’s the best of both worlds.”

Fright Fest wasn't taking place in 2020 due to the pandemic but there was Hallowfest, which the park says was pretty successful.

You'll be able to get your scare on for eight weeks this fall starting September 10 and then on weekends and select weekdays through October 31.

If you want to do the scaring, Six Flags needs your skillset as well.

The hiring process is underway for 'scare actors' with in-person scare actor/zombie auditions taking place August 6 and 20 at 6:00 pm and August 28 at 2:00 pm in Six Flags Great Adventure’s Employment Center.

You and some friends can go together as well with group auditions taking place, no previous experience in scaring people is needed but you'll need to show you can have fun, be a little quirky and strange and show off 'creepy' qualities as well.

You have to be at least 16-years old to apply.

If interested, candidates are asked to apply online before attending an audition at www.sixflagsjobs.com or text SCARE to 220MONSTER.

"Seasonal team members who work through October 31, 2021, can earn up to an additional $500-$1,000 or more with a 10% bonus for wages earned from July through September and a 15% bonus for wages earned in October."
