In January I announced that as part of their 50th anniversary the Causeway Family of Dealerships was going to “celebrate” in a rather different fashion.

The auto group in Manahawkin launched a year-long “50 Golden Acts of Good” campaign to help their neighbors and positively impact Ocean County.  The centerpiece of this program is the monthly awarding of a $10,000 grant to help a local non-profit and it culminates in December with the awarding of a new Ford Transit Connect Van.

April’s recipient of this charitable endeavor is Ocean Partnership for Children, which helps Ocean County children between the ages of 4 and 21 with behavioral, emotional, substance use and developmental challenges, like autism.  OPC helps these children connect with services like in-home counseling, behavioral therapy and mentoring. The goal is always to keep them at home, in school and in the local community.

Ocean Partnership for Children is the only designated agency providing these care management services in Ocean County and currently they are helping 950 children each day receive the services they need to be successful.  While they collaborate and coordinate with other social service agencies there is no other organization providing the specialized care coordination services they do on a daily basis.

The Causeway Family of Dealerships $10,000 grant will help OPC continue providing these unique services and they continue recruiting qualified care managers as well as volunteers to serve on their Board of Trustees.  To reach them directly you can call 732-202-1585 or visit oceanpartnership.org.

Ocean Partnership for Children joins previous $10,000 grant recipients Interfaith Hospitality Network of Ocean County, Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey and Meals on Wheels of Ocean County with the next announcement coming in May.

For 50 years the Causeway Family of Dealerships has been a fixture on Route 72 in Manahawkin and so has been their commitment to the community and this is just the latest example.
