U.S. Coast Guard rescues two people board vessel in Barnegat Inlet
The U.S. Coast Guard came to the rescue of two people after their 53-foot fishing vessel reached the Shore and was taking on water at the Barnegat Inlet Jetty late on Wednesday evening.
A passenger on 'Bay Of Isle' contacted watch-standers at Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light but due to the location of where the vessel had become grounded, the Coast Guard said they would not be able to get to them.
As a result Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay sent over an aircrew aboard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Atlantic City.
The Coast Guard then successfully hoisted the two passengers aboard the vessel up into the helicopter and brought them to Air Station Atlantic City.
No injuries are being reported.
