Class A North

Marlboro 82, Long Branch 50

Senior Jack Seidler scored a career-high 33 points in 12 first-half minutes and the Mustangs (17-2, 9-1) stomped the Green Wave (1-15, 0-10) to clinch the outright public division championship and no worse than a share of the overall championship in Class A North.

Senior Zack Molod scored all nine of his points in the first half and Alex Frank poured in 11 off the bench for Marlboro, whose last division championship came in the form of a three-way tie in 1970-71.

Junior Bruce Gooding led Long Branch with 23 points.

 

Class A South

Brick Memorial 63, Toms River East 47

Senior Luke Braaten scored 14 points to go with nine rebounds and three blocks and the Mustangs (13-4, 8-2) rode a balanced attack to a win over the Raiders (3-14, 2-9).

Junior Brian Starrett scored eight of his 13 points in the third quarter, during which Brick Memorial outscored Toms River East, 24-5, to blow open what was a two-point game at halftime. Starrett also handed out 10 assists and grabbed three steals.

Senior Jason Ellerbrock added 10 points and junior Josh Michigan and junior Jeremiah Crispin each chipped in nine for Brick Memorial.

Juniors Soren Wilson and Manny Vargas each scored 10 points to lead Toms River East, with Wilson also grabbing six rebounds and Vargas dishing out five assists.

Toms River North 88, Toms River South 39

Senior Justin Moskowitz scored a game-high 22 points on Senior Night and the Mariners (9-10, 5-6) crushed the Indians (4-13, 1-9) in a must-win game as it pertains to their pursuit of a spot in the Shore Conference Tournament.

Junior Delani Hyde posted 14 points, eight rebounds and six blocks and senior Nick Cassese contributed seven points and five assists for Toms River North, which had 12 players score in the game.

 

Class B Central

Ranney 88, Keansburg 51

Junior Isaac Hester scored 18 points and each Ranney starter scored at least eight points in a Panthers (13-3, 9-0) win over the Titans (5-11, 2-7).

Senior T.J. Braswell-Brown added 15 points, five rebounds and four assists, seniors Brandon Klatsky and Charles Anyichie each poured in 12 and junior Zack Davis contributed eight for Ranney. Klatsky also handed out five assists.

Junio Jaheim Hill led Keansburg with a game-high 27 points, which he scored with a single-game school-record nine three-pointers. Senior Andrew Valle also scored 11 points in the loss.

 

Class B South

Brick 52, Pinelands 45

Junior Alex Jenkoski scored a game-high 21 points and the Green Dragons (8-10, 5-6) beat the Wildcats (7-8, 5-5) on the road to keep their hopes for a Shore Conference Tournament berth alive.

Senior Rob Giovine pitched in 14 points, six assists and three steals while senior Jack Dougard contributed 10 points and seven rebounds for Brick.

Senior Aiden Skeie led Pinelands with 18 points and classmate Rian O'Rourke poured in 14.

Manchester 83, Lakewood 38

Senior Savon Myers led four players in double-figures with 22 points and the Hawks (14-4, 11-0) rolled to a win over the Piners (1-12, 0-10), clinching the outright Class B South championship.

Senior D'Maari Brown drained 19 points, while senior Amari Petty netted 11 points and senior Jordan Dupont chipped in 10 for Manchester.

Junior Derrick Marsh led Lakewood with 15 points.

Donovan Catholic 60, Barnegat 45

Senior Jalin Butler scored 16 points and the Griffins (13-5,10-2) closed strong with a 30-16 run over the last nine minutes to beat the Bengals (4-15, 2-8).

Senior Kyree Drake also dropped 15 points and senior Alex Melon chipped in 11 for Donovan Catholic.

Freshman Mason Krey scored 12 points and junior Shikeith Gordon added 11 to lead Barnegat.

 

Class C North

Jackson Liberty 44, Wall 28

Senior Phanique Dupree led a balanced scoring effort with 11 points and the Lions (12-6, 5-5) dropped the Crimson Knights (1-15, 0-11) on Senior Night.

Freshman Jayson King added eight points and classmate Dallas Weisse had six for Jackson Liberty.

Junior Matt Eisenberg led Wall with nine points.

Manasquan 67, Ocean 38

Senior Matt Solomon scored 19 points and the Warriors (14-4, 10-0) absorbed a fast start by the Spartans (2-15, 2-9) to earn the win and clinch no worse than a share of the Class C North championship.

Freshman Griffin Linstra added 14 points for Manasquan, which outscored Ocean, 38-12, in the second half.

Freshman Zayier Dean scored 13 points to lead Ocean, which jumped out to a 16-10 lead after one quarter and trailed 29-28 early in the third quarter.

Point Boro 60, St. Rose 42

Junior Noah Knauf went off for a career-high 25 points thanks to five three-pointers and the Panthers (15-2, 9-2) raced past the Purple Roses (9-8, 5-5).

Senior Colton MacGlashan also poured in 10 points for Point Boro, which kept its faint hopes for a Class C North co-championship alive.

Senior Luke Farrell scored 16 points and classmate Nick DiNatale added 14 to lead St. Rose.

 

Non-Division

Point Beach 71, Freehold Boro 57

Junior Kevin Burns came up two assists short of a his third straight triple-double and the Garnet Gulls (7-6) picked up a key win over the Colonials (0-18) to move within one win of clinching a Shore Conference Tournament berth.

Burns finished with 24 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists on Monday and is averaging 24.3 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists over his team's last three games.

Senior Anthony Longo poured in 23 points and senior Andrew Laumbach chipped in 14 for Point Beach.

Senior Timmy Springer led Freehold Boro with 20 points, six rebounds and four assists and senior Sawiris added 13 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in the loss.

Holmdel 64, Middletown North 56

Sophomore Ben Kipnis scored a game-high 27 points and the Hornets (10-8) closed the game with a big fourth-quarter run to grab a road win over the Lions (9-7).

Sophomore Nick Seeloch scored eight of his 17 points in the fourth quarter, during which Holmdel outscored Middletown North, 21-7, and shot 12-for-19 from the free-throw line. Freshman Evan Romano also scored 10 points for the Hornets.

Senior Matt Kenny led Middletown North with 17 points and nine rebounds, while junior Mac Colantino added 10 points and junior Zac Searight chipped in eight points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in the loss.

Monmouth 63, Henry Hudson 37

Junior Ta'haj Wiggins scored 15 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked six shots to lead the Hawks (9-9) past the Admirals (3-14).

Freshman James Curley added 11 points and senior Brandon Ligon netted 10 for Monmouth.

 

Non-Conference

Red Bank 57, Thomas Edison Charter 12

Junior Nick Valentino scored 10 points and the Bucs (10-6) scored the first 32 points of the game on the way to an easy win that clinched Red Bank a Shore Conference Tournament berth.

Keyport 69, Academy for Urban Leadership 24

Senior D.J. Thomson scored 23 points to lead four Keyport players in double-figure scoring as the Red Raiders (13-3) rolled to a win over Academy for Urban Leadership.

Senior George Mitchell chipped in 13 points and six rebounds, junior Terrek Mimes added 11, and junior Max Judson posted 10 points and nine rebounds for Keyport.
