Toms River Bring-Change event helps Lakewood special needs students
Your spare change can change the life of a youngster with multiple physical and mental challenges. There's a specific spot to drop the coins, in Toms River, Thursday.
In its "Bring Change" campaign, TD Bank's Toms River branch on Lakewood Road will match up to $2,000 in donated coins that pass through its Penny Arcade, for the benefit of the School for Children with Hidden Intelligence (SCHI) in Lakewood.
The donation is targeted for a special-needs playground at the non-profit, accredited learning center on Madison Avenue.
Coin counting begins at 8 AM and continues thorugh 4 PM. TD branch manager Nora Shand is scheduled to deliver the check to the school at 4:30.
The bank has pledged to raise $1 million through 500 events through 2016. See a video of progress to date here.
