The Stafford Police Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on several anonymous tips, have arrested five people at a Manahawkin home including one man who was found with 100 bags of heroin.

Allen Poplawski, 78, of Whitecap Avenue, in Manahawkin, was the main target of the narcotics investigation and his arrest came Wednesday evening following a motor vehicle stop.

Stafford Police Chief Tom Dellane said the DEU continued their investigation along with the STPD Detectives, their K-9 Unit and the Barnegat Township Police’s Crime Reduction Unit who all served a collective search warrant at a residence on Oak Avenue in the Cedar Run section of town.

That's when Maryann Garcia, 40, and Alan Hill 32, were found hiding in the attic
of the residence on Oak Avenue and both were later charged with Hindering Apprehension, Possession of CDS Heroin and Possession of CDS Prescription Tablets.

Garcia and Hill were served criminal complaint summonses and then brought to jail on outstanding warrants in lieu of their bail pending a future court date in court.

Trudy Shinn, 50, was also arrested and is being charged with Possession of CDS Heroin and Possession of CDS Methamphetamine.

Devin Post, 30, was arrested and is being charged with Possession of CDS Heroin and Possession with CDS paraphernalia.

Shinn and Post were released on criminal complaint summonses pending a future court
date in Ocean County Superior Court.

Allen Poplawski was charged with Possession of CDS Heroin, Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS Heroin and Distribution of CDS Heroin.

He was served criminal complaint summonses pending a future court date in Ocean County Superior Court.
