We wait all winter long for the weather to break and spring to arrive. Except for those of us who sneeze and cough through spring from seasonal allergies.

There have already been plenty of reports of cough, sneezing, congestion and headaches all over the Jersey Shore, and the bad news is, for many, the suffering is just beginning.

We checked the latest pollen updates, and frankly, the levels aren't all that bad just yet. So, if you're suffering now, it looks like it's going to get worse before it gets better at the Jersey Shore.

Our tree pollen levels are the biggest concern this time of year, and those levels will be the worst Thursday and Friday of this week, but even then, the levels will only be considered 'moderate'. They will be 'good' the other days this week, according to weather.com.

And the breathing readings are either 'good' or 'very good' for the rest of the week and through the weekend. And yet, many allergy sufferers are not buying any of that. So how could the levels be good and the suffering be bad?

Experts say it all comes back to the pollen and this time of year, it's probably the tree pollen that is bothering you, even if the levels are low, it's more than a few weeks ago. But don't worry, there are steps you can take to lessen the suffering.

Hackensack Meridian Health  explains the world of allergies in detail, and offers some great tips on how to handle all allergies, including the seasonal allergies many Jersey Shore residents are already suffering.

So, get the tissues and allergy medicine ready. Here we go again. Seasonal Allergy Season 2019 has arrived.
