Class A North

No. 6 CBA 10, No. 8 Middletown South 5

Junior attackman Nick Blalock tallied three goals and one assist, sophomore attackman Ryan Martin notched a hat trick, and CBA's defense stifled Middletown South's offense to lead the Colts (4-3, 3-0) to a thorough victory over the Eagles (5-1, 3-1) in a meeting between teams tied for the division lead.

CBA led the game 10-2 late in the fourth quarter before Middletown South scored three goals against the backups in the final two minutes.

Senior midfielder Hayden Kelly added two goals, senior midfielder Aidan Guinnessey contributed a goal and an assist, and junior midfielder Christian Petruzzelli scored once. Junior attackman Ian Macrae dished out two assists while sophomore midfielder Cameron D'Alterio and freshman midfielder Davis Cambell had one assist each.

Defensively, junior goalie Brandon DeSena made five saves in back of a stout defense led by senior Peter Canterino and freshmen Luke Krebs and Quinn Kelly along with standout senior defensive midfielder Max Avrillon. The starting unit held Middletown South to just nine shots and two goals.

Senior attackman John Beyer scored twice, senior midfielder Luke Rohrmann had a goal and an assist, and sophomore midfielder Colin Gallagher and junior defenseman Kevin Dunphy had one goal each for Middletown South. Junior goalie Lucas Campos made seven saves.

 

No. 10 Manalapan 8, Colts Neck 4

Sophomore attackman Christian Zdiarski scored four times and sophomore midfielder Grant Carle tallied two goals and one assist and went a perfect 14-for-14 at the face-off X to lead the Braves (4-2, 3-2) to a divisional win over the Cougars (1-3, 0-2).

Senior midfielder Frankie D'Amore had a goal and two assists and sophomore attackman Anthony Macchio had a goal and an assist. Junior midfielder Luke Mann chipped in with two assists and senior goalie Alex Kaplan made four saves.

Sophomore midfielder Ethan Sloane had a goal and an assist and senior goalie Dan O'Keefe made 16 saves for Colts Neck. Junior defenseman Thomas Halmi scored a goal and picked up nine ground balls and senior defenseman Henry Shell and junior Sean Perkinson each scored once.

 

Nondivisional

No. 9 Red Bank 15, Point Boro 2

Sophomore Andrew Pape scored five times and added three assists and junior midfielder Henry Spencer tallied three goals and two assists as the Bucs (3-1) cooled off the Panthers (5-1) to hand them their first loss of the season.

Matt Lynch and Trey Lynch each contributed a goal and two assists, Matt Kelly scored once, and Kyle Borenius dished out three assists. Gavin Lisko (4 saves) and Matt Peduto (2 saves) shared time in goal.

Nick Campbell scored twice for Point Boro, which played without All-Shore senior midfielder Aidan Kirk for the second straight game. Kirk is the leading scorer by points in the Shore Conference. Tommy Morris won 12 of 20 faceoffs and Matt Azzarano made nine saves.

 

Red Bank Catholic 18, St. Rose 5

Senior attackman Anthony Muniz and junior midfielder Torin Harmon combined for eight goals and 19 points as the high-scoring Caseys (4-2) handed the Purple Roses (5-1) their first loss of the season.

Muniz had a 10-point afternoon with four goals and six assists and Harmon totaled nine points on four goals and five assists. They helped power RBC to a 12-3 halftime lead and a 16-4 advantage heading to the fourth quarter. Sophomore attackman Jackson Lu tallied three goals and one assist, junior midfielder Sam Fertal had a hat trick, sophomore attackman Peter Villare had two goals and one assist, and senior attackman Ryan Brown had a goal and an assist.

Junior defenseman Nick Cosimano won 8 of 13 at the face-off X and picked up 12 ground balls and sophomore defenseman Connor Harms won 7 of 12 face-offs with 10 ground balls. Sophomore midfielder Logan Graham added seven ground balls. Sophomore goalie Gianvito Viola made 13 saves.

James Magrini scored four times to lead St. Rose. Colin Westhoven scored once and won 15 of 21 faceoffs, Dan Bair had two assists, and Sean Annitto and John Harold had one assist each. Chris DeVoy (4 saves) and Cameron McManus (1 save) split time in goal.

 

Jackson Memorial 15, St. John Vianney 4

Senior midfielder Charlie Harrison continued his strong start to the season with five goals and one assist while also picking up 10 ground balls and winning 10 of 15 faceoffs to lead the Jaguars (5-1) to a victory over the Lancers (1-3).

Sophomore attackman Drew Barocas added four goals and two assists, junior Justin Perillo tallied three goals and one assist, and senior goalie Hunter Olsen made 14 saves. Junior midfielder Alex Ariel and senior attackman Matt DeRosa each added a goal and two assists, junior midfielder Charlie Gumina scored once, and sophomore midfielder Elias Craig had one assist. Senior defenseman Mike Rauch picked up a team-high 12 ground balls.

 

Holmdel 14, Toms River East 2

Senior midfielder Jared Battaglia delivered two goals and three assists and senior attackman Kyle Kapcsos scored three goals with one assist to power the Hornets (4-2) to a victory over the Raiders (1-3).

Senior midfielder Aidan Lagana and sophomore midfielder Will Gilfillan added two goals and one assist each while junior attackman Dylan Lagana and sophomore midfielder Gary Collyer each scored twice. Senior attackman Evan Cohen added a goal and an assist, freshman Jack Powers went 14-for-18 at the face-off X, and junior Andrew Arredondo (8 saves) and sophomore Casey Dowd (2 saves) shared time in goal.

 

Barnegat 10, Brick Memorial 9

Bryan Snowden tallied three goals and one assist, Robert Sawicki had a hat trick, and Lucas Holland made 21 saves to lead the Bengals (5-2) to a one-goal victory over the Mustangs (3-3).

Aidan Rieser totaled two goals and two assists plus nine ground balls, Luke Tortorici had a goal and two assists, and Seth Freiwald had a goal and an assist. Kurt Bonin won 8 of 14 faceoffs and Antonio Frusco was 5-for-7 at the face-off X.

Henry Lindquist scored three goals and added two assists and Paul Mazzeo made 15 saves to lead Brick Memorial. Chase DeVeau had two goals and one assist, Dylan Rinyak notched a goal and an assist, and Matt Cataldo had one assist.

 

Brick 4, Donovan Catholic 3

Justin Kurc scored twice and Jason Glandorf made 14 saves as the Dragons (1-5) nipped the Griffins (1-5) to pick up their first win of the season.

 

Lacey 11, Toms River South 6

Gaetano Dimiele delivered four goals and one assist and Chad Moore made seven saves as the Lions defeated the Indians for their third straight win.

Corey Smith added a hat trick and one assist, John Dodaro had two goals and one assist along with a 12-for-15 day at the face-off X, Matt VanNortwick tallied a goal and three assists, and Diego Wolf had a goal and an assist.

Shane Toal scored twice and assisted on another. Brady Derome also scored twice, and Jake Hull made 17 saves for Toms River South. Corey Kaiser and Nicholas Romaine each scored once, Billy Rutledge had two assists, and Aidan Vicidomini had one assist.

 

Marlboro 7, Toms River North 2

The Mustangs (1-4) scored five times in the first quarter en route to defeating the Mariners (1-4) for their first win of the season, Kyle Potterton led all players with three goals and one assist while Eddie Parsons, Ben Rothman, William Oplinger, and Noah Gothelf had one goal each. Patrick Xia made three saves in goal.

Nick Walano had a goal and an assist and Evan Singer made 12 saves for Toms River North.

 

Nonconference

No. 3 Southern 13, Clearview 1

Junior midfielder Joey DeYoung scored four goals with one assist and senior attackman Jack Kolbe delivered three goals and two assists as the Rams (5-0) scored the final nine goals of the game to pull away from the Pioneers (3-2).

Senior midfielder Jake Washco had three goals and one assist, Hayden Lucas and Noah Keenan had a goal and an assist each, Tyler Murowski scored once, and LSM Chris Laureigh had one assist.

 

North Brunswick 14, Neptune 6

Ryan Podlaski had a hat trick and Michael Loff tallied two goals and one assist for the Scarlet Fliers. Andrew Reynolds scored once and Patrick Clohosey picked up seven ground balls.
