Revealed – Monmouth And Ocean’s Most Avoided Road

It seems like we spend half of our day in a car, so knowing which roads to avoid is sort of an Olympic sport here at the Jersey Shore.

So when we crown the most avoided road in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, it's a pretty big deal. And if you think the Garden State Parkway would run away with this title, you are about to be very surprised.

The Parkway is way down on the list. Lakewood, however was a very popular answer in this survey. Let's look at the results.

Route 9 Lakewood...41.5%

Any road in Lakewood...19%

Route 9 anywhere...8%

County Line Rd, Lakewood...5%

Brick Blvd, Brick...5%

Hooper Ave, Toms River...5%

West Park Ave in Ocean and Route 35 in Wall were mentioned, as was the Garden State Parkway, but each of those only came in at 3% each. Votes involving Lakewood totaled a whopping 65.5%, nearly a third of all votes.

And here's another revealing statistic. Nearly half of the voters (49.5%) listed Route 9 as their most avoided road.

Bottom line. This survey was all about driving, or not driving in Lakewood, and The Most Avoided Road for 2019 is Route 9 in Lakewood.
