Tristan M. Cottle, 25, of the township's Browns Mills section, was apprehended February 8, six days after a search of his house, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi. Detectives said they found cell phones containing the degrading images.

Cottle faces three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Two are distribution-related, and are categorized in the second degree. One is related to possession, and is classified as a third-degree offense.

Conviction for a second-degree crime carries a possible prison term of five to 10 years. Third-degree charges are punishable by three to five years on conviction.

The probe began in January with a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Investigators said that Cottle was not in his home at the time of the search, and was arrested in Mount Holly by the Prosecutor's High Tech Crimes Unit and the New Jersey State Police Digital Technology Investigations Unit.

The Pemberton Police Deparmtent also took part in the investigation.

Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
