Richard Doody Jr.'s body was found in his home with signs of blunt force trauma to the head and slash wounds on his neck on November 23, 2015.

Investigators say after killing the victim, 52-year old Conrad Sipa of 1 Homelands Drive in Colts Neck tried cleaning up the scene of the crime.

Sipa had been arrested and released last year on $1,000,000 bail in connection with the incident.

While allegedly committing the murder Sipa used various kinds of weapons to kill Doody including a knife, golf club, and/or a ceramic lamp, investigators determined.

The charges of the Indictment against Sipa include one count of First Degree Murder, Three Third Degree Counts of Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, One Count of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, One Count of Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution in the Third Degree and One Count of Tampering with Physical Evidence in the Fourth Degree.

The public is reminded that criminal charges are merely accusations. Each person charged with a crime is presumed innocent until their guilt is proven beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
