A Monmouth County State Probation Officer has been arrested and charged with witness tampering and making terroristic threats, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni.

Henry Cirignano, 48, of Adams Street in Wall Township, is charged with one count of second degree Witness Tampering and one count of third degree Terroristic Threats as well as a fourth degree Contempt of Court charge by violating a no witness contact provision in a Pre-Trial Release Order.

If convicted of Witness Tampering, Cirignano faces up to 10 years in a New Jersey state
prison.

If convicted of Terroristic Threats, Cirignano faces up to 5 years in a New Jersey state prison.

He faces up to 18 months in prison on the fourth degree Contempt of Court charge.

Cirignano was arrested on February 4, 2019 on charges related to the sexual assault of a woman he supervised while on probation.

On February 11, 2019, after a hearing and over the State’s arguments, Cirignano was released from the Ocean County Jail on conditions ordered by the Court.

These new charges are the result of an investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office into conduct allegedly committed by Cirignano since his release from jail, culminating with the  defendant’s arrest on Monday April 1, 2019.

Cirignano is currently being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending an upcoming First Appearance.
