An Ocean Township woman has passed away after sustaining critical injuries in a crash with a box truck, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Roller and Deal Roads last Friday morning.

Ocean Township Police learned upon an on-scene investigation that a 33-year-old man from Keyport was driving a 2017 Ford E-350 Econoline Box Truck southbound along Roller Road and he stopped at the red light crossing with Deal Road.

There was a woman riding a Schwinn bicycle, who has since been identified as 62-year-old Li Wang, on the sidewalk of Roller Road and she also stopped for the red light at the intersection crossing with Deal Road.

When the light turned green, police said that the Box Truck driver was turning left onto Deal Road and Li Wang was riding across the street in a marked crosswalk at the same time and it led to a collision which forced Wang 25 yards away from the crosswalk.
