A Union Beach woman is facing charges for allegedly striking a child who was in her care while in Keyport earlier this year, Keyport Police Chief Shannon Torres announced on Monday.

Chief Torres said that Jaclyn K. Bost, 28, is being charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child as well as assault.

The incident was brought to the attention of police after learning that a video began circulating on social media.

Police investigated the reported incident and were able to determine it occurred on the 40 block of West Front Street.

Bost will have a first appearance in Monmouth County Superior Court along with a detention hearing later this week.

Chief Torres advises anyone with information about this alleged incident to contact Keyport Police Detective Eric Devlin at 732-264-0706.

"Anyone who believes that they may have seen the video of this incident is asked to report it as child abuse to the social media platform on which it was shared. Any incidents of child abuse should be called in immediately to the police, you can call your local police directly or dial 911."
