This one will get your Jersey Shore pride going. One out of every 5 of the best boardwalks in the entire country call New Jersey home, according to a recently released top 20 list. 20% of the top boardwalks in the whole nation are just minutes from the Garden State Parkway. No matter how you say it, it sounds really great.

And I'm not going to lie to you. I think we could have gotten one or two more on the list, but we'll get to that later. Let's start with a little celebrating. Here are the amazing boardwalks that did make the Reader's Digest list of the 20 Best Boardwalks in America for 2021.

Ocean City...We already know it as "America's Favorite Beach Resort" the only thing that points were taken away for was for nightlife since it's a dry town, but that only adds to its strength as a super family spot.

Wildwood...Who doesn't have amazing Wildwood memories, and with each passing summer, new generations are making the same kind of memories. Reader's Digest's only knock is that it's a long boardwalk. We think that's a strength!

Atlantic City...Of course, the one that started it all is one of the best. When it comes to boardwalks, none is more famous, and for that matter more awesome. We don't use the word legendary often, but...

Point Pleasant Beach...Another boardwalk that approaches legendary status. It's hard to believe you can pack so much fun and so many memories into a one-mile stretch, but they manage to do it every summer!

It is such great news to see these boardwalks make the list, and I hate to seem greedy, but I think we could have taken 25% with the simple addition of Asbury Park on the list. But I don't want to seen as unappreciative!

Congratulations to all these awesome boardwalks. They deserve every bit of recognition!.

From The Best Boardwalks to the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
