The closest you'll find this popular brand and retailer is in Myrtle Beach. Now, they're to set up shop at the Jersey Shore and people are buzzing about it.
While you can find Hurley brand products at places like Pac Sun, Tillys, and Macys, there has never been a stand-alone store in the area, until now.
Hurley was founded in Huntington Beach, CA in 1999. They say the brand started "on the principle of empowering and fueling the voice of the next generation."
Hurley very wisely has partnered with the world’s best musicians, surfers, skateboarders, and more. They describe their vibe as "a global youth culture brand with roots sunk deep in beach lifestyle."
So what better place for them to open their first northern coastal location than Asbury Park.
The new retail store will be at 1183 Main St. near Fourth Avenue.
The Asbury Park Press spoke to Sylvia Sylvia, the executive director of the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce and she put Hurley's arrival in town perfectly.
It means you're not cookie cutter. It shows me that Hurley has an outside-of-the-box thinking method. Asbury Park is kind of famous for that, for ingenuity and for not necessarily the same-old-same-old.
So when can we start shopping, right? David Willis of the Asbury Park Press reported that the grand opening will be happening on June 27. Not only will there be prizes and giveaways, but Hurley has lined up some pretty impressive guests to make an appearance. Olympic surf coach Brett Simpson and Big Wave surfers Kai Lenny and Will Skudin will all be on hand.
