Singer and songwriter Carole King is 75 "tomorrow" (February 9th). She was born in Brooklyn, and her life story plays out daily on Broadway in the musical titled Beautiful. Along with her late husband, Gerry Goffin, Carole wrote many of the most famous songs in history - "You've Got a Friend," "The Locomotion," "Take Good Care of My Baby," "A Natural Woman," "Up on the Roof," and countless more - along with her own hit singles such as "It's Too Late" and "Sweet Seasons." Did you know that her first hit reached number 1 for a Passaic, New Jersey girl group known as the Shirelles? The song is "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" and when it became a major hit, both Carole and her husband left their day jobs to become full-time composers. Happy birthday, Carole.
