3 swimmers rescued from rip current in Harvey Cedars
Members of the Harvey Cedars Beach Patrol and Police Department on Long Beach Island pulled three swimmers from a large rip current off 77th Street Sunday afternoon, according to a Facebook post by the Borough's Beach Patrol.
One of the three swimmers was transported to the hospital, according to the post.
Swimmers are reminded to stay in guarded areas. Guards will remain on Middlesex Aveune all week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the post said.
Harvey Cedars is among a few towns that still has lifeguards late in the season.
