There are few roads in our area that induce more passion, aggravation and complaining the way Brick Blvd. in Brick does.

Why is that? Is it because there are too many cars on the road no matter what time of the day it is? Is it because no one is actually going straight? I mean, there are times I think Brick Blvd is just one big turn lane.

There are dozens of reasons why Brick Blvd. causes frown lines and crow's feet at the mere mention of it's name. And now here are just a few of the ways you know you're on Brick Blvd. in Brick.

Left lane to nowhere. You know you're on Brick Blvd. when cars are doing 11 mph in the left lane for two miles approaching Beaverson Blvd so they can make a left.

I see the light. You know you're on Brick Blvd. when you've just hit your sixth straight red light.  I guess it can happen once in a while, but why does it always seem to happen to us, right?

Get off the line. You know you're on Brick Blvd. when you have to constantly worry about people creeping over the line into your lane. Did I miss a sign that says those lines in the middle of the road are optional?

We love our friends in Brick and I drive there every day. And for those who do as well, we know it's not always easy. Sometimes you just have to vent a little bit. OK, vent over. But I do drive on Brick Blvd. on the way home today, so let's see what happens.
