Two people charged after woman stabbed at Belmar Train Station

Two women have been arrested and charged with assault after a 27-year old woman was struck in the face with a large folding knife at the Belmar Train Station on Sunday night during an altercation.

Belmar Police said that they received a phone call around 7:40 pm in reference to a fight at the Belmar Train Station.

The caller told police that the altercation had ended and the accused females were at that point on foot attempting to leave the scene.

Belmar Police arrived on scene and found the 27-year-old victim who sustained a severe laceration to her face from a sharp-edged object, later identified as a folding knife.

The victim was treated on location and brought to Jersey Shore Medical Center for further evaluation.

Police began to look for the accused suspects and later found them covered in blood on Highway 35.

Samantha Castro, 25, Iselin and Jamie Hoke, 22, Cliffwood Beach, were then arrested.

Hoke had a severe laceration to her hand, which appeared to be from a sharp-edged object.

She was treated by Belmar First Aid and transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center along with Belmar Police Officers.

Castro was transported to police head quarters and placed in a holding cell. A knife was not located on either Hoke or Castro at the time they were arrested.

A large folding knife was eventually located hidden under mulch along the wall of the Belmar Motor Lodge by Belmar Police who determined that it was the same knife used in this assault.

Hoke was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, and tampering with evidence.

She was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail.

Castro was charged with aggravated assault and released on a criminal summons.
