Toms River Police are combing for clues after a man was robbed on Wednesday morning near the 711 between Washington Street and Whittier Avenue around 9:50 am.

Raymond Graziosi told responding Toms River Police officers that he was walking on Washington Street when a male in a white Volkswagon Jetta or Passat with tinted windows stopped his car to offer him a ride.

When Graziosi refused the ride the male got out of the car and demanded all of his money.

Graziosi said the man held his left hand in his jacket in an attempt to make it look like he had a weapon, although no weapon was shown.

He was not injured during the robbery.

Graziosi described the driver as a black male with short hair with short dreadlocks wearing dark pants and a gray jacket, and the passenger in the car, as a black male with a black jacket and dark skull cap covering his head.
