
Toms River man causes three-car accident after running red light on Bay Avenue
A Toms River man is in a heap of trouble after causing a three car accident when he ran a red light on Bay Avenue near Vaughn Avenue Sunday afternoon, around 12:30 pm.

Police said that Jeffrey Loffredo, 25 of Toms River, was driving on Bay Avenue when he ran the red light and then collided with a Honda HRV driven by Jeffrey Edgar, 51 of Toms River, who was driving up Vaughn Avenue through a green light.
The collision caused by Loffredo caused Edgar's vehicle to flip onto its side and then crash into another vehicle, which was driven by Donald O’Brien, 51 of Toms River, who was stopped on Vaughn Avenue as the light had turned red.
East Dover Fire Department and Toms River Fire Department crews responded to the scene and extricated Edgar from his vehicle who received treatment on scene from Toms River EMS and Robert Wood Johnson MICU before being transported by EMS to Skyview Park Landing Zone where he was Medevaced to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
Loffredo was cited with Failure to Obey a Traffic Signal, Expired Driver’s License, Failure to Possess a Registration and Failure to Possess an Insurance Card.
Toms River Police said there was no sign of driver impairment.
The accident is being investigated by Toms River Traffic Safety Officer Ryan Fitzgerald.
