Toms River bank heist suspect identified and on the loose
The man suspected of holding up a bank in Toms River right after it opened Thursday morning is identified as a township resident, and police are escalating their search for him.
Bail for Richard Winiavski, 30, is set at $75,000 upon his capture, according to township Police Chief Mitch Little.
Winiavski displayed no weapon when he entered the Wells Fargo branch on Route 37 and Vaughn Avenue at about 9:15 AM, authorities said. Initial reports said that he collected the contents of two cash drawers.
He was described as short and thin, clad at the time in a dark zip hoodie and a white ballcap with an insignia and a contrasting brim.
Anyone familiar with Winiavski, or of his whereabouts, should contact Toms River PD Detective Bob O'Neill, 732-349-0150 ext. 1255.
