The U.S. Coast Guard issued a statement hoping residents could help them find a man who at that point was last seen near the beach in Ocean Gate heading towards Toms River in a rowboat.

Information was minimal at that point from the Coast Guard who hadn't yet indicated whether the man is a suspect, person of interest or a missing person.

Hundreds of people gathered in Freehold Borough on February 19 to celebrate the 26th birthday of Stephanie Parze (which is Feb. 19) and to celebrate her life and memories.

This was one of the most tragic stories of 2019 and many questions lingered into 2020.

Stephanie went missing on October 30, 2019, it was the last time she was seen alive by her loved ones.

She was murdered by her on-again, off-again boyfriend John Ozbilgen, 29, who committed suicide in his parents home on November 22 after being arrested for child porn charges.

Several hundred people marked the 26th birthday of Stephanie Parze — a young woman police say was killed by her on-again, off-again boyfriend — with a candlelight vigil and formal announcement of a foundation in her name Wednesday night.

Her body was discovered on January 26, 2020 along Route 9 in Old Bridge.

On the night they celebrated Stephanie's birthday, her father Ed also announced the creation of the Stephanie Nicole Parze Foundation.

In the months following her passing, her family and friends, who are known as 'Stephanie's Angels' who helped in searching for her last year and have since made sure that Stephanie's memory lives on forever and that they can help others who are victims of Domestic Violence attacks.

The Stephanie Nicole Parze Foundation provides help and brings awareness to domestic violence and missing persons and create a variety of different avenues to make help available.

Their mission is to provide education, intervention and support for families dealing with Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse and missing loved ones.
