The Big, Not So Big and Small
Like most of you I have a rather long list of pet peeves, so many in fact that I have to classify them into three categories: BIG, NOT SO BIG and SMALL.
Today I break down a dozen which I'm sure at least some of you will agree with.
Let's start with the BIG category and it's probably not a surprise they involve driving habits.
- Drivers who don't use directional signals. What's more frustrating than this? Whether it's on a local road when making a turn or those that race in and out of traffic while doing 80 on the Parkway.
- Drivers who totally ignore yield signs. There is a reason for them but many believe it's simply for them to speed up and beat those who have the right of way.
- Pedestrians who not only take their time crossing the road but do so while talking on their phones oblivious to the fact they are in a roadway.
- Those who insist on taking up two spaces in a parking lot. OK, I get it, you are worried about getting your car getting dinged. We all are. But unless you can find a remote section in the lot it's rude and inconsiderate while probably sums that person up.
Now for a few favorites from the NOT QUITE BIG category:
- Having to ask for napkins at any food establishments, including drive-thrus.
- Calling any business or professional office in which the phone is answered with "please hold" before you can say anything.
- Those who talk in the movies just after the message which says "please don't talk during the film."
- People having loud and animated conversations on their cell phone in a public place.
And finally a few SMALL pet peeves
- Facebook requests from people I don't know.
- People who leave shopping carts in parking spaces instead of walking 20 feet to put them where they should.
- Those who don't say "thank you" when you hold the door open for them.
- Co-workers who cook things in the microwave that smell nasty especially in the morning.
