At the Biergarten with Jane and Alex

The final holes of The Masters provided some great golfing drama in Augusta, Georgia Sunday with Sergio Garcia coming through to win his first major and the green jacket that goes with it.

Garcia outlasted Justin Rose in a back-and-forth battle that did not end until the first hole of a sudden death playoff.  The 37-year old Spaniard did not hold back the joy and emotion that comes with winning the biggest prize in golf and it was great to see.

I began my Sunday by taking a Spinning class with my daughter at Toms River Fitness. She was home for the weekend and sort of talked me into joining her.

It was the first time I’ve done the 50-minute session on a stationary bike in at least 20 years and my quads are letting me know this morning.  I guess you could say it was a somewhat invigorating way to start the day.

It also allowed me to feel less guilty later when Jane, Alex and I took a ride to Asbury Park and stopped at the Biergarten for a couple of cold ones on the rooftop patio before enjoying pizza while sitting outside at Porta which was really good.

It was a nice way to spend a few hours on a sunny Sunday with my favorite girls.

Congrats to all the baseball and softball teams that took part in Saturday’s 5th Annual Strike out Autism Challenge hosted by the Central Regional Autism Awareness Club.  A staggering 64 teams participated at 11 different sites around the shore to raise awareness and money to benefit the fastest growing developmental disability in the United States.   Jerry and Jo-Dee Frulio with the help of many have done an amazing job of growing this event and kudos to all the teams who enthusiastically took part to make a difference in the lives of others.
