Study – New Jersey Among Best States For Police Officers

With National Police Week kicking off Sunday, May 12, there is some good news for the Garden State. According to a recent study, New Jersey is among the best states in the nation for police officers.

We are so fortunate to have great first responders here in the Garden State, and a recent study published by WalletHub says that there is good news for our police officers.

Their study reveals that the Garden State ranks among the top 10 states in the nation (#9 to be exact) when the categories 'Opportunity & Competition',  'Job Hazards & Protections' and 'Quality of Life' are considered. New York is ranked #1.

There were 27 metrics used in calculating the conclusions, and here are some of the highlights of the research for the Garden State.

New Jersey ranks an impressive #2 in the Job Hazards and Protection category, topped only by Rhode Island.

New Jersey also ranks #2 for highest average median income for law enforcement officers adjusted for cost of living (behind only Alaska).

New Jersey is ranked #8 for law enforcement officers per capita.

"Law officers" in this study include police and sheriff’s patrol officers, detectives and criminal investigators.
