Asbury Park is one of the hottest towns at the Jersey Shore and, in addition to the amazing beaches and great boardwalks, a big part of the city's current success rests on the shoulders of its great restaurants.

Since we love spotlighting great local businesses, we thought we would take a little time to shine the light on one of Asbury Park's best and most well-known restaurants.

If you haven't been to this amazing Italian restaurant yet, we highly suggest you visit the Asbury Park location soon. You'll be so glad you did.

The Asbury Park location is one of three in the Porta family. They also have restaurants in Jersey City, and most recently Montclair, and they are all amazing.

The Asbury Park location is so beautifully decorated, and the food is absolutely outstanding. Regulars say you can't miss the Pan Roasted Day Boat Octopus and the Monday Night, which is gnocchi (ricotta) in a vodka sauce with basil. How great does that sound?

Porta is located at 911 Kingsley St. in downtown Asbury Park, and they are open 7 days a week. Here's a great fun fact. Porta in Asbury Park is where Student Prince once was, and that is where Bruce Springsteen met Clarence Clemmons. It doesn't get more Jersey Shore than that.

So, make sure you make plans to visit Porta when you're spending the day in Asbury Park. You'll be glad you did.
