So. Toms River youth sports official charged with theft
SOUTH TOMS RIVER - The President of the South Toms River Baseball Youth League is the subject of a theft charge filed today by borough police.
The investigation concerning Luis Quiros began with a report to police on July 19, according to information authorities posted on Facebook.
Detective Timothy Meier completed the arrest this afternoon.
Police did not specify the sum, nor did they reveal the source of the original report. They also did not elaborate on whether Quiros was released pending an initial court appearance.
South Toms River double-stabbing suspect held
The man suspected of knifing two people in the borough this past weekend remains in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, pending his initial court appearance.
James Powell faces charges of aggravated assault and several weapons counts, police said, for the outgrowth of an altercation on October 28.
After arriving at a house last Saturday, officers found one victim stabbed in the arm and hand and directed transfer to Community Medical Center in Toms River.
Police were later told that the victim's boyfriend was stabbed in the lower abdomen.
Detective Timothy Meier and Patrolman Anthony Giacinti issued complaints against Powell on October 31.
Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
