A Rahway man is facing charges after allegedly robbing the Exxon gas station Friday afternoon on Drum Point Road in Brick and cutting the attendants thumb with a knife during an altercation.

24-year old Zakry Shrivers walked up to the attendant in his booth, demanded money and displayed a knife.

An altercation then occurred where the attendant was cut by the blade of Shrivers and got cut on his hand located around his thumb.

Shrivers took the money, dropped it, then continued running without it down Drum Point Road and through the Encore Dental parking lot.

Investigators with the Ocean County Sheriff's Department K-9 Unit and Brick Police worked together to track down Shrivers.

He was found "sweating profusely" in a new set of clothes than the original description of him entailed in the woods near Cherry Quay Road.

Shrivers was arrested and was brought to Police Headquarters for processing.

He's being charged with Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose and Burglary armed with a Weapon.

Shrivers remained in the Ocean County Jail under the guidelines of bail reform.
