Police in Cinnaminson arrested a Philadelphia man who brandished a handgun at two people demanding money and reveling the fact that he had drugs in his possession.

The man then suddenly fled the area, on foot, heading behind Gene's Motel and into a residential area.

Police received a 911 call around 12:39 pm and Chief Rich Calabrese ordered a shelter in place at all three local schools as officers searched for the suspect.

When police were able to review surveillance video confirming the suspect was no longer in the area, the shelter in place was lifted.

Cinnaminson Detectives executed a search warrant around 9:30 pm on Tuesday night for the room at Gene's Motel where the crime occurred and seized multiple baggies containing suspected heroin, as well as drug paraphernalia, along with a loaded .380 handgun, which police said was equipped with a laser sighting system.

The suspect wasn't in the room at that time.

It was a little later on Tuesday evening that Cinnaminson Police said they spotted a suspicious vehicle near Gene's Motel and pulled it over.

One of the people inside the vehicle turned out to be the man police were looking for who was coming back to the scene of the crime, they said, to gather his belongings.

Jamar Holloway, 32, of the 1400-unit block of Cheltenham Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was then arrested and charged with Possession of a Weapon (handgun) for Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Handgun), Possession of a Weapon (handgun) during a CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substance) Offense, Distribution of CDS in a School Zone (1000ft), Possession of CDS (Heroin), Terroristic Threats, Aggravated Assault (Pointing a Firearm), and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia.

Holloway was brought to the Burlington County Jail on a warrant, awaiting a detention hearing.
