Lakewood man sentenced to 8-years in prison for armed robbery at pharmacy
A Lakewood man who robbed Taylor's Pharmacy on Madison Avenue in March of 2020 has been sentenced to eight years in prison, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced on Wednesday.
Elioenai Aguinaga, 32, previously entered a guilty plea to the Robbery charge and his sentence is subject to the terms of the No Early Release Act, which means he has to serve at least 85 percent of his prison sentence before he may be considered for parole eligibility.
Lakewood Police learned in their investigation that Aguinaga went into the pharmacy, brandished a semi-automatic handgun at the store clerk and demanded money from the cash register.
He took approximately $130 and then fled the pharmacy.
Lakewood Detectives were able to identify Aguinaga as the suspect and he was arrested on April 25, 2020 and has been in the Ocean County Jail since that time.
Prosecutor Billhimer said Assistant Prosecutor Kaitlyn Burke handled the case on behalf of the State.
