Parkway Toll Increases Take Effect Sunday

Get ready to pay more to travel the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike.

A fifty-percent toll hike will take effect this Sunday starting at 6:30AM.  The average car toll on the parkway will jump from 70 cents up to a $1.05. Turnpike tolls could hit as high as $3.30, an increase of 53%.

The increase was proposed during former Governor Corzine’s administration. The additional money will help pay for a decade-long, $7 billion capital program to widen the Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway.
