We have to start this conversation with the pasta discussion. We live in New Jersey, and that means many of us have added a pasta course to the already food-filled day we call Thanksgiving.

Many of us never even get to the turkey course because we have already stuffed ourselves full of lasagna. It's not fair to the turkey, who gave his life for this day, and it's not even fair to all those great side dishes.

Speaking of Thanksgiving side dishes, the fine folks at Taste of Home did extensive research all over our great nation to figure out which one was each state's favorite, and what they found out about New Jersey might surprise you.

New Jersey's favorite side dish at Thanksgiving is probably not what you think it is. My first thought was cranberry sauce, and it turns out that's not it. Neither are mashed potatoes, carrots, or beans.

This is New Jersey after all, and we like our carbs, right? So now which side dish do you think it is?

The report suggests that when we're not chomping on turkey or pasta, we are chewing our favorite Thanksgiving side dish, stuffing.

That makes perfect sense. I can easily get behind that choice, and we are not alone. Our neighbors in New York and Pennsylvania wholeheartedly agree.
