If you think, despite all the Jersey jokes and our national reputation, that you are pretty happy here in the Garden State, a recent study may have proven you absolutely right. And it's one particular category that we do exceptionally well in, and that category has launched New Jersey near the top of the happiest states list.

Which category do we do the best in? Well, it turns out that we don't just do well in this category, we dominate it. In the WalletHub study, New Jersey ranks as the #1 state in the nation for physical and mental well being.

How about the other main categories? The other two main categories that help determine the overall ranking for the state are "Work Environment" and "Community & Environment" and we dont do particularly well in either of those categories.

While we can live with the community ranking (22), in the work environment, you'd have to be disappointed with our spot. We rank at #39. Ouch.

But that #1 ranking in "Physical & Emotional Well Being" really launched us up the overall rankings. When it's all tabulated, New Jersey comes in as the 9th happiest state in the nation, and I think we'll all take that, right?

There are plenty of things to make us happy here in the Garden State, and it seems that those things help us overcome all the things that drive us crazy about New Jersey.
