Keep Those Tissues Handy New Jersey, The Fall Allergy Forecast Is Rough
Are you an allergy sufferer?
Do ragweed, dust mites, and mold spores make your nose drip, your eyes water, and your throat sore?
I'll admit that I'm lucky that I've been spared the ills of seasonal allergies because they seem absolutely awful.
Only once in my life, when I moved to Central PA did I suffer from allergies, and that was mainly due to relocating to a different type of climate.
Unfortunately for many people living and working in New Jersey, that's not the case and Fall Allergies wreak havoc on their daily lives.
Accu-Weather has released their Allergy Report for the Fall of 2022, and sorry to say but it looks like it could be a rough one.
What To Expect For Fall's 2022 Allergy Report
According to NJ.com, a report came through saying that this year saw extreme levels of ragweed in surrounding areas.
Since there was an explosion of ragweed, that means it's going to be a pretty intense allergy season until the ragweed goes away.
Ragweed is usually present until the first major freeze of the year, so that leaves a lot of time for these particles to give you watery eyes, a scratchy throat, and a drippy nose.
In addition, the report claims that we could see an increase in mold spores this year.
Keep in mind too, when you turn on your heat for the first time this year that it's been sitting all summer leaving plenty of time for some irritants to build up.
My advice would be to either clean your HVAC system out or leave your house the first time you turn on your heat.
Also, it's Fall, so you're going to be going on hayrides, picking pumpkins, and raking leaves all of which can (to an extent) increase your allergy woes.
Helpful Tips For Allergy Sufferers
NJ.com reported that there are a few things you can do to help with allergies:
- Limit outdoor activity
- Close your house and car windows during allergy season
- Clean the filters on your heating and cooling systems
- Shower at the end of the day to clean yourself of any potential allergens

So sadly, we're in for a rough allergy season but the silver lining is that we at least live right near the Jersey Shore, so there are worse places to be sneezing, right?
