I always think I am, until I ride on them!

Over the summer, I think I hit Casino Pier one time, and that was for a station event.

My wife made me go on one ride with her, and I immediately got motion sick, getting older is so much fun!

When I was a kid though, I loved all things spinning and fast; scrambler, swinging ship, swings, til-a-whirl.

I couldn't get enough.

Even now that I don't go on rides as much, I really enjoy going to carnivals and amusement parks and watching people have fun, and if I do end up on a rollercoaster, it's not the end of the world.

But, would you go on some of the most terrifying rides in history?

In an article on Popular Mechanics, they broke down 37 of the scariest rides in history, and two attractions from New Jersey made the list!

Just reading through the article I started getting woozy.

Some of the rides ranged from the obscure, like the human pool table at Steeple Chase Park in New York.

That's a "ride" where thrill seekers would enter a massive rink and try to make it to the other side without being swept away by rotating wheels attached to the floor.

Imagine the Tea cups, just minus the actual tea cups.

That's a big pass for me!

Other rides were just outright dangerous, like the Flying Cars in River View Park in Chicago.

Again, this "ride" had passengers strapped into little cars that looped around a giant rotating barrel, while onlookers could watch from below.

According the Popular Mechanics, that ride (and amusement park) was shut down in the 60's due to safety concerns.

So, What Two Rides From New Jersey Made The List As Most Terrifying?

One is the very popular Kingda-Ka at Six Flags in Jackson.

It's a triple threat: it's the tallest, has the biggest drop, and also has the attached Drop Of Doom, easily making this one of the scariest rides in history.

Also coming from New Jersey, and I don't think this is a huge surprise, is Alpine Slides and Cannonball Ball Loop from Jersey's infamous Action Park.

Action park was a little before my time, but I've met plenty of people who remember going there.
