Morning Update – How Will The Latest Storm Impact The Jersey Shore

The Jersey Shore is preparing for more rough March weather, with another storm bearing down on us. What should we expect?

Meteorologist Dan Zarrow has been tracking the latest info and here is what he thinks we can expect form this storm in the next 36-48 hours.

Timing. We should start to see some rain/snow showers this evening (Tuesday) but the majority of the precipitation impact will be from late morning tomorrow (Wednesdeay) to tomorrow evening.

Snow amounts. While some ares will see significant accumulations, double digits in some spots around the state, the Jersey Shore will see less because of a mix of rain and snow.  Dan expects 3 to 6 inches through a good part of the area with all rain along the immediate Ocean County coast.

Wind. The wind will not be as intense as the last storm, but there is potential for 40+ mph wind gusts, so there is a real possibility of additional power outages.

Snow/rain line. Dan thinks mostly snow north of 95 and mostly rain along the coast, with some mixing in the middle.
