We have been taking an online summer tour of the amazing Asbury Park Boardwalk and we are going to continue that today with a stop at the well known Maruca's Tomato Pies and their Asbury Park location.
If you’ve had the pleasure of enjoying a Maruca’s pie or slice at the Asbury Park Boardwalk, there’s a great story behind that amazing pizza. It's another chapter of the legendary boardwalk's current story.

It’s a story that started in the mid 20th century. That is when Maruca’s Tomato Pies in Newark got it all started. Fast forward to 2016 when Sammy Boyd suggested to his friend Dominick Maruca that they bring this amazing pizza experience to the famous and quickly growing Asbury Park boards, and Boardwalk history was about to be made.
Maruca’s on the Asbury Park Boardwalk opened up in 2019 and their signature sauce swirl has become an instant hit.
Everything is delicious and huge at Maruca’s. If you don’t believe me, order the order on of those giant slices or one of their 24” pies. You literally see what I mean. And then you'll taste a pie that's right up there with the best at the Jersey Shore.
And if you're mood has you swinging away for pizza (a situation that is completely foreign to me, but to each their own), you can also get a great Antipasto, Caesar or Garden salad at Maruca's as well.
Maruca’s Tomato Pies is an absolutely awesome spot on our Asbury Park Boardwalk Tour 2021! Make it a destination this summer. Shop local! Buy local! We’ll have another awesome stop next week!
