A Manahawkin man is brought to Jersey Shore University Medical Center Monday after his Hyundai Elantra struck a construction trailer in Stafford Township around 2:33 pm.

Police say 89-year old Adolph Schlesinger began to drift as he was heading northbound on Charles Boulevard and approaching Lawrence Drive.

He then began to drift even more toward the right side of the road when he suddenly crashed into the trailer which belongs to AMON Construction.

The airbags in the Hyundai Elantra were deployed but Schlesinger was not wearing a seat belt and ended up suffering a head injury.

His current condition at the hospital is unknown.

Traffic on Charles Boulevard was redirected around the scene for approximately 45 minutes and Schlesinger's vehicle was towed from the scene.

Patrolman Jillson is the investigating officer for this accident.

Assisting on scene were the Stafford Township Volunteer EMS and MONOC Paramedic Unit 216.
