We have so many cool buildings and landmarks all over Monmouth and Ocean Counties that it’s hard to identify them all. Can you name this one?

It looks pretty nautical right, and it is sort of. It is on the water and next to a marina. That’s not a lot of info, but some of you may have it already.

In case you don’t, we’ll give you a little more. It is a restaurant in Ocean County. How about now? Fine, one more clue. There used to be a Pilot in the name but it’s not really near an airport. And it’s current name includes the highway it’s located on.

If you haven’t gotten it yet, we’re going to tell you before you get a headache. We’re talking Beacon 70 in Brick, and I made a lunch pit stop there yesterday and I was glad I did.

My choice for lunch was the Beacon 70 Slider and it was great choice.  I heard they had a really good one. And I heard right. My second choice was the Cuban slider lunch, and since it was such a tough choice, I ordered that to go and had it for dinner. It was also awesome.

As we get back into the groove of things I really think you should put Beacon 70 back on your radar and in your rotation for go to restaurants. There’s nothing more important right now than supporting our local businesses, restaurants and servers. And Beacon 70 is a great place to do all that and have a great meal while you’re at it.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
