If you are a Jersey Shore allergy sufferer, today will be a bad day, and as a matter of fact, it looks like we're in for a rough allergy week.

The main culprit behind the sneezing, coughing, watery eyes and runny noses is the tree pollen, which, according to the Weather Channel Allergy Tracker is listed as "Very High" for today.

And the projections for the upcoming days, based on social media reports of area allergy sufferers, does not paint a pretty picture over the next seven days, with 5 days listed as " high" one day as "very high" and only one day being "moderate".

The moderate day is tomorrow (Saturday), and the very high day is Monday the 29th, so grab the tissues, the allergy medicine, and the knowledge that all this is the first step toward summer, if that makes you feel any better.

If you're looking for some additional silver lining stuff here, the grass and ragweed levels are "low" today. I know, it's small consolation, but I'm trying.

So what are some natural, simple ways to keep the allergy suffering down this time of year? Health.com offers these suggestions...

Wear a mask...if you have to be out (in the garden, etc.) the mask will keep the pollen out of your nose and mouth.

No stressful tasks...studies show doing stressful tasks when the pollen count is high causes additional suffering. You don't have to tell me twice.

Clean nose please. The more you wash the pollen out of your nose with a saline sinus rinse, the better you'll feel. So, good luck through the rest of the allergy season, and we hope you fell better soon!
