The Undisputed List of the Best Jersey Shore Boardwalk Foods
My favorite summertime activity is spending a few hours on the beach, followed by a slice of boardwalk pepperoni pizza, a chocolate/vanilla twist with chocolate sprinkles from Kohr's, and then walking it all off on the boardwalk.
My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
A slice of boardwalk pizza with salt and crushed red pepper is a staple for me in the summer and I spend all off-season looking forward to it.
I know I could get pizza on the boardwalk all year long, but I don't have a good answer as to why I don't.
My Mount Rushmore of boardwalk foods would be
- Pepperoni Pizza
- Chocolate/Vanilla Twist with Chocolate Sprinkles on a Cone from Kohr's
- Fresh Squeezed Lemonade
- Fried Oreos
I took to Facebook to ask you what your favorite boardwalk food was and I won't lie I was slightly surprised by the #1 response.
Of course, pizza was mentioned a few times, but not as many times as sausage and peppers.
Now, I know a sausage, pepper, and onion sandwich is a popular go-to on the boardwalk, but I didn't expect it to get the #1 spot.
Obviously, Midway was mentioned as the favorite place to grab a sausage sandwich in Seaside.
The number two food was not so surprising pizza. Some of the comments mentioned the huge slices that the boardwalk is known for, which I agree does make it better.
The fried desserts were mentioned a few times shouting out funnel cake, fried Oreos, and Zeppoles.
Midway received another vote with their cheesesteaks.
Other foods making the list include waffle ice cream sandwiches, fries with vinegar, and an orange/vanilla twist from Kohr's.
