Christopher Gilman, 38, was charged by Monmouth investigators today at the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, according to information from the office of acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni.

Gilman was indicted in Ocean County for allegedly holding up the Toms River branch on Route 9 on October 17, 2014. Monmouth authorities allege that he robbed the Howell branch, also on Route 9, on October 10 and again on November 1 of that year.

He is being held in Ocean County on $150,000 bail, with no option for release on 10 percent payment. His Monmouth-imposed bail is $200,000, also with no 10-percent option.

In each instance in Howell, a masked individual entered the branch, approached a teller, claimed to have a weapon but displayed none, and made off with cash. The branch was held up at 6:59 PM on October 10, and at 2:09 PM on November 1, authorities said.

Police investigators from Howell, Brick, Toms River and Jackson, Monmouth County authorities, and agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) concluded that Gilman was responsible for all three.
