The legendary "Mayor of Motown," as he is nicknamed, turns 77 today. He's a smart man - currently on tour in warm climates (Florida and Nevada). Smokey's real first name is William, and along with all the hits with the Miracles, he also wrote countless others for the Motown recording stable including "My Girl," "My Guy," "You Beat Me to the Punch," "Two Lovers," "The One Who Really Loves You," "The Way You Do the Things You Do," "Don't Mess with Bill," "Get Ready," "Ain't That Peculiar," and "I'll be Doggone." Happy birthday, Smokey. Hope you'll be coming to NJ to perform soon.
