Washington Street and President’s Day
George Washington was born on February 22, 1732. His and Lincoln's February 12th birthday used to be separate holidays, but were combined as "President's Day" beginning in 1971. Lincoln is commemorated on the penny and the five-dollar bill. Washington is remembered on the quarter, the one-dollar bill...oh, and on Washington Street in Toms River (also known as Avenue of Americanism). Have a big slice of cherry pie in his honor.
