Galloway Police said in a statement Friday afternoon that Sergeant Patrick Neal suffered an injury to his left hand and wrist and was released from AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's Mainland Campus following treatment.
On Thursday night around 11:36 pm, Sgt. Neal was assisting a disabled vehicle on the side of East Jimmie Leeds Road near 2nd Avenue when a white Jeep Wrangler drove on by hitting him in the process.
Sgt. Neal was able to spot the vehicle in just enough time to step back in what the department says likely saved his life or avoided more serious injuries than he sustained.
