Officers responded to the Wednesday evening crash around 7:43 pm in the area of Brick Boulevard near Route 70.

Police learned that Charles Leone, 57, of Brick was heading in the right lane of travel on his motorcycle turning left onto Brick Boulevard southbound from Route 70 West.

Simultaneously,  police said that an unknown made the same turn but from the left lane however made an unsafe lane change in the process to try and enter the jug handle for Route 70 East.

This resulted in the driver cutting off Leone forcing him to brake hard and try and lay the motorcycle down.

He was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered injuries to his face and head was later brought to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing and so far police have heard from some witnesses who were on scene who reported that the unknown vehicle may have been a newer white colored Jeep Cherokee.

Any other witnesses and anyone with any information related to the crash should contact Ptl. David Thergesen #249 at (732) 451-2037.
