We all want the kids to have a fun Halloween, and it'd hard to do that without some candy. But how much is too much?

We asked our friend Dr. Dalia Hanna, a family medicine doctor at Hackensack Meridian Health Medical Group to break down the details of how much Halloween candy is too much.

Here's an unbelievable piece of data. Kids can consume up to 7000 calories on Halloween, which is kind of staggering. That's the equivalent of 12 Big Macs. So what is a parent to do?

Dr. Hanna says the key is keeping a candy limit. She says to try to insert some fruit into the mix, make sure the kids are drinking plenty of water, and try to limit the candy intake to one piece a day during the Halloween season.

Want another stat? How about this one. The average trick or treater will consume 3 cups of sugar, or 200 sugar packets. So, while most parents don't say no completely to candy this time of year, we all want to make the best choices for the kids.

So which candies are the best choice? Dr. Hanna says dark chocolate covered almonds (as long as there are no nut allergies of course) are a good choice, as well as chocolate covered pretzels and peanut butter.

So, enjoy your Halloween, and try to do it as healthy as possible.
